All Inclusive Excursions Invites You To Moab, Utah On A Mountain Bike Excursion

Moab, Utah

Moab, Utah

Located in the southeastern corner of Utah is the city of Moab. Known for many things including the annual Jeep Safari, Moab is a top destination for mountain bikers from around the world. Featuring some of the world’s most amazing landscapes, you can bike your way through canyons, over mountains and through some of the most challenging mountain bike trails on the planet. All Inclusive Excursions invites you to explore this amazing terrain on the mountain bike adventure of a lifetime.

Mountain Biking In Moab with All Inclusive Excursions

All Inclusive Excursions would like to explore a few of the amazing trails around Moab which have been drawing even the most technical mountain bikers to the area for years. Many of the trails in the Moab area are highly technical and require that you be experienced in mountain biking. Be sure that you are aware of the degree of difficulty required for the trails you choose before you go.

MOAB Brand Trails

The MOAB Brand trails offer five trails options for the mountain biker from easy to skilled riders only, depending on what you are looking for. For those who are mountain biking with their family or just not quite comfortable with their skills yet, the Bar-M Loop is a great choice. The 7.9 mile ride allows you a somewhat less challenging ride through the beautiful area of Moab. Circle-O, Rockin-A band Bar-B are a more difficult ride. With dips, turns, bumps, and slickrock, each of these trails is less than 3 miles long and requires a bit more experience in the sport of mountain biking. The area holds one trail that requires a high degree of skill in handling of a mountain bike. Aptly named Killer B, this one mile trail includes steep areas of slickrock, cliffs, loose dirt, tight turns and even steps. All Inclusive Excursions reminds you to use your common sense, do not attempt any difficult trail unless you are an experienced mountain biker. Remember all these areas are highly sensitive and you are asked to remain on the trails at all times to protect yourself and the sensitive area around you.

Some of the other trails around the Moab area are Baby Steps, Lower Monitor and Merrimac Trail, Klondike Bluffs Trail,Amasa Back Trail and Slickrock Bike Trail. Each of these trails offers the mountain biker a unique look at the area around Moab, but many have high degrees of difficulty. The Slickrock main trail, for example, is a 10.5 mile loop which takes the rider over sandstone, up and down steep ascents and requires at least 4 to 5 hours for the experienced rider to complete. If you are less experienced, it is recommended that you try the practice loop. The practice loop is just 1.7 miles long and requires a bit less skill, but as it does lead the rider near cliffs, and over loose rock and some rutted rock, you should still have a degree of skill and confidence to attempt this part of the Slickrock Trail as well.

All Inclusive Excursions Reminds You To Think Safety First

As with all adventure sports that have risk involved, All Inclusive Excursions would like to remind you to put your safety first before your adventure. There are many outfitters in the area of Moab willing to give you advice on the trails in the area, so make sure you know what you are getting yourself into before you go. If you are looking for a place to buy trail maps or rent a bike for the day there are also many places in town to do both. All Inclusive Excursions invites you to explore Utah on a mountain bike adventure for your next vacation.

A West Coast Swing with All Inclusive Excursions

It is common for families that take extended summer vacations to hit the large parks in the west. Those parks are Yosemite, Grand Canyon, Yellowstone and Redwood National Forest. But, there are a number of smaller, less-glitzy parks which provide the same expansive beauty with less crowding and traffic. Lets take a look at a few of these, and design a trip through the beauty of the west with much less hassle.

Columbia River Gorge

Columbia River Gorge

First, the Columbia River Gorge in Washington State and Oregon is a wondrous place to begin.

A majestic drive along the canyon walls will provide you with lush surroundings and extraordinary waterfalls. There are multiple places to stop and view the beauty, and very affordable lodging. The Camas Hotel, for example, is a historic lodge on the north side of the river. It is both cozy and warm, with very good food and rooms. For the entire Gorge, give yourself a day, and a night to experience it. And, be sure to take plenty of pictures of the wondrous snow-capped peaks which surround you.

Next, be sure to travel south and visit Redwood’s equally-glorious sister, Sequoia National Park and Kings Canyon.

It is common to get lost here in the glory of the trees. Sequoia trees are known for their height, but mostly their width. Be sure to take a photo of you wrapping your arms around the General Sherman Tree, an extraordinary feat of nature. But, for campers, the real secret lies in Kings Canyon to the north. The majesty here is indescribable. Grand Canyon deservedly receives a great deal of attention, but Kings Canyon is also majestic and beautiful. Also, it is not overwhelmed with visitors and campers, insuring a much less hectic stay.

From here, travel into Utah to visit it’s two crown jewels, Bryce Canyon and Zion National Park.

Upon arriving at Bryce, you are instantly presented with tall pines and an uncertainty as to what lays beyond. But, when you pass the trees, what unfolds before you is an indescribable landscape of geological chaos and beauty. Red and sandy spires stand side-by-side creating an amphitheatre of mystery. One could sit and stare for hours attempting to conceive of the forces which shaped this majestic scene.

In nearby Zion National Park, one is presented with a heaven of monoliths and narrow passages.

For hikers, this is your destination. High cliffs and paths beckon, while mysterious canyons remind of how small we humans actually are. “The Narrows” are easily the most visited area of the park. Follow the Virgin River as your path, as you inevitably squeeze through its trademark passages, becoming tantalizingly close to nature.

This sequence of parks will provide the essence of a vacation, without the grotesque traffic and chaos of the larger parks. Those are best visited off -season. With the kids in tow, why not take the less conventional route?

Current Passport information – How, When, and Where

Passport

Passport

If you are planning on traveling abroad the most frequently asked question is usually about your passport.

How do you get one, when should you get it, and where do you go to apply for it?

Since 9-11, travel in and out of the US has been getting more complex with good reason. The recent travel laws have gotten more strict to provide safety to all travelers. Air travel is a bit more complex and passport regulations have definitely gotten a bit more strict. In fact, until recently you could travel to Canada by simply having you identification, but with the new laws, a passport is required even for travel to Canada.

Travel is still possible and as long as you have your passport before you leave, you should not have any trouble on your next vacation. Here is the information you may be searching for on the how, when and where of getting your passport.

How do I get my passport?

Decide first if you need a passport book or a passport card. A passport card is used to enter the United States from Canada, Mexico the Caribbean and Bermuda at land crossings only, no air travel and no sea ports. The Passport book is good for international travel by air, sea and land. The process is not to difficult as long as you go in prepared. You will need proof of citizenship i.e. a birth certificate, proof of who you are, an id card or your drivers license, a filled out DS 11 form, 2 identical photos and money to pay for your passport.

DS-11 form – You can get this online at the following link: http://travel.state.gov/passport/forms/ds11/ds11_842.html
If you prefer, you can get this form at your local post office.

Photo – You can have your photo taken at many places that offer picture services such as Walmart or kinkos.

Cost – When you submit your form in person the cost is as follows:
16 or older passport book – $100.00
Under 16 passport book – $85.00
Passport Card under 16 – $45.00
16 or older passport card – $35.00

When do I need to get my passport?

According to the U.S. Department of State Travel processing times vary but it varies with regular service or no expedited service between 4-6 weeks. Expedited service will get your passport to you in 2-3 weeks on average.

Where do I get my passport?

If you have had a passport or currently have a passport, you may be able to apply by mail and would fill out a passport renewal form instead of the previously state form. If you have never had a passport before you may need to apply in person at an acceptance facility or a Passport agency. An acceptance facility is usually a county clerks office or a post office in your area. There are not many passport agencies in the US but some of the locations are: Detroit, New York, Boston, San Francisco, Honolulu and a few others throughout the US. Some locations even issue on sight passport cards such as Detroit.

I hope this helps you travel more easily. Good luck in your journeys and remember to bring your passport!
